Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 16, 2026

Alarmesque is built to wake you up. We collect as little information about you as possible to make that happen. This page explains, in plain language, what data the app handles and where it goes.

What we collect locally on your device

  • The alarms you schedule (time, scene choice, custom description if any).
  • The first name you enter (optional — only used so the alarm can shout it).
  • The generated audio for each alarm, stored in the app’s private storage.
  • Any custom voice samples you record and the resulting voice ID.

This data never leaves your phone. It is stored in the app’s sandboxed storage and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

What we share with third parties

To generate the wake-up script and voice, the app sends data to third-party AI service providers (for script generation, text-to-speech, and optional voice cloning). Specifically:

  • The scene prompt and the first name you entered are sent for script and audio synthesis.
  • If you use voice cloning (premium), the 30-second voice recording you provided is sent to the cloning provider; a voice ID is returned and saved locally.

We do not send any other personal information. We do not run a server of our own — requests go from your device to the AI provider via a thin authentication proxy that does not log or retain request contents.

Subscriptions

Premium and Dream subscriptions are handled by the app store you installed from (Apple App Store or Google Play). A third-party subscription-management provider receives a randomly-generated anonymous ID and the purchase receipt from the store so the app can confirm whether your subscription is active. We never see your app store account email, payment card, or billing address — those stay with the store.

Diagnostics and crash reporting

The app uses a third-party error-tracking service to record crashes and unhandled errors so we can find and fix bugs. That service receives the stack trace of the error, the app version, the device model and OS version, and a short trail of in-app navigation steps leading up to the error. Personal content (prompts, voice samples, transcripts, names) is scrubbed before sending, and no user identifier is attached.

What we do NOT collect

  • No analytics. No tracking SDKs. No advertising identifiers.
  • No location data.
  • No contacts, photos, calendar, or health data.
  • No account, email, or password — the app has no login.

Permissions the app requests

  • Alarms / scheduled notifications — required to ring at your scheduled time even when the phone is locked. On Android 13+ you’ll be asked for notification permission, and on Android 14+ for exact-alarm permission so the alarm fires on time.
  • Microphone — only used when you choose to record a custom voice sample or speak to the scene (talk-back). Audio is sent for that turn and not stored long-term.

Children

Alarmesque is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything about how data is handled, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will reflect it.
